Quality Assurance

While our R&D labs design quality into our products, our Quality Assurance teams ensure that

quality is consistent. The responsibility of MSE’s Quality Assurance Team is to be our own in-house

testing laboratory. Ensuring long term quality and consistency is the foundation to your customers’

satisfaction. We understand that without quality, you simply cannot compete.

Comparison to the original equipment manufacturer is key. We perform various tests including but

not limited to: product life/duration, absolute & difference color measurement, Density, Dot, Trap,

Print Contrast, Hew Error/Grayness, (Hew Error/Saturation), Brightness and Density. MSE is working

towards third party accreditation to the international standard: ISO 9001 – 2000.

We perform 100% verification of all electromechanical functions, ink/toner delivery systems, proper

saturation, resolution and graphical integrity.

MSE performs random sampling of all finished goods inventory and production runs. The five

percent sample is subjected to the following: a controlled shock and vibration test to simulate transit,

seventy-two hours of static placement (to ensure viscosity and formulation are consistent, and that

regional environmental RH factors are simulated), and then various samples are subjected to the

aforementioned comparison testing.

We strive to reproduce cartridges that meet or exceed OEM standards by use of direct comparison

to the OEM; this methodology is achieved partly by the use of Spectrodensitometer measurement in

conjunction with accepted industry graphical standards (test patterns). We also utilize ISO

5-4:1995(E), ISTA 1A.

Quality Assurance methods utilized at Micro Solutions:

• Pre-qualification of suppliers and material

• Receiving inspection based on variable statistical sampling

• Toner validation and evaluation prior to release

• Inspection status identification of materials throughout the remanufacturing process

•

Post-production print test evaluation by first and independent second party of all cartridges manufactured

• Final inspection including: complete visual inspection of 100% of the product

• Verification of communication and count microprocessor chips, (RF/contact)

• Product life, function, and print quality testing laboratory

• MICR toner evaluation and verification
